New identification rules canine


The Royal Canine Society of Spain, has released a new regulation to canine identification effect is effective from 1 January 2011, if interest transcribe it:

1. Starting on January 1, 2011 the only valid form of identification for canine entry in the English Stud Book (LOE) or the Registry of Canine Breeds (RRC) will be by transponder ( microchip).

The transponder (microchip) must be fitted with an anti-immigrant system, respond to the provisions of ISO 11784 and should be able to be read by a reader that fits to ISO 11785. Implanted subcutaneously into the left side of the neck or if this is not possible, between the shoulder blades.

2. Only the RSCE admit the tattoo as a valid means of identification canine when the Autonomous Region in the residence of the owner of the dog permits, encoding issued by the Registrar of Animal Identification and always that is performed according to the rules of the EC.

3. The identification of the dog shall be veterinarians or professional authorize each Autonomous Community.
